| With the successful formation of the Greater
Fredericksburg USBC, the men, women and youth of the Fredericksburg
Area will now co-exist as one association. What does this mean
for the youth of our area? It means that the members of the GFUSBCA board will be making the decisions regarding the youth program in our area based on recommendations made by the Youth Committee. The Youth Committee is comprised of five members elected by the Youth Representatives comprised of Tanya Able, Jacob Vannoy, Tony Able, Wanda Sloper and Courtney Tripp. This will benefit the youth greatly in that the board will look out for the best interest of the youth. There are three Youth Directors on the board elected by and from the Youth Committee that represent the youth in our area. The youth director positions are held by Tanya Able (Youth Director at AMF Fredericksburg), Wanda Sloper and Courtnery (manager of AMF Fredericksburg). It means that we will be able to hold our own city tournament for the youth, right here in the Greater Fredericksburg Area. Sanction fees will increase to $12 for the new fall season. It means that the youth bowlers, 14 years and older, in our area can serve as Youth Representatives to help represent the best interest of the youth bowlers. Most importantly, it means that quarterly updates will be added to the association newsletter keeping you informed of upcoming tournaments and events for the youth. |
